Christian formation

To be fruitful, the church needs to provide an environment which promotes spiritual development. Christian formation is the forum for both children and adults, which provides those opportunities for education, instruction and fellowship.

Church school follows the Sunday service and runs until noon, September through the first week in June. The rector and/or guest speakers generally lead the adult forum, while adult volunteers coordinate the children’s programs. Several times a year, both groups combine in inter-generational events.

In addition, St John’s is one of three churches in West Point which combine each summer to host Vacation Bible School for area children.
